Planning permission for a residential development (Use Class C3) with associated works, including highways, open space, landscaping and drainage infrastructure, land off Wrawby Road, Brigg

Wrawby Parish Council objects to this application

Wrawby Parish Council would like to register its concerns that the infrastructure will be unable to cope. Doctor and dentist appointments locally are very difficult to secure already.
Environmental Concerns – The proposal are on a greenfield site that will see the removal of established trees and hedge rows. The noise and air pollution in this area will increase along with a detrimental impact on bats, hedgehogs and other wildlife.
Highway Safety concerns – Increased traffic onto and out of A18 Wrawby Road especially when turning right from the development in the direction of Brigg.
Flooding and Drainage Concerns regarding the negative impact on both the surface and foul drainage in the area.

Wrwaby Parish Council does not object to the housing plans but it has grave concerns to the Council's preferred multiple entrances to the site requiring destruction of a large area of the hedgerow. Removal of the hedgerow is not in line with Council policy for protection of wildlife habitat and does not compliment the street scene as suggested as the hedgerow stretches along the whole of the western side of Kettleby Lane and is a feature of the area. Could this please be addressed prior to decision. Decision Notice - Granted

Wrawby Parish Council object to the application for the following reasons

1) It is outside the development line.

2) There would be a reduction in parking spaces at the Jolly Miller pub which would either push vehicles out on to the busy road causing a highway safety issue or deter customers from visiting the local community venue.

3) The bin lorry would not be able to turn around within the development which would mean bins left on the pavement outside the development blocking pedestrian access.

1) The proposed development is outside the village development boundary
2)Wrawby Parish has approximately 40 existing approved planning applications for dwellings that remain unused (and a further 40 under appeal) which would indicate there is no necessity for further and future housing in the village.
